New York Rangers trade Pavel Buchnevich to St. Louis Blues

The New York Rangers have traded Pavel Buchnevich to the St. Louis Blues.
As first reported by TSN’s Darren Dreger, the return on the deal, as reported by Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, is a second-round pick in 2022 and Sammy Blais.
Buchnevich, 26, has been a strong middle-six forward for the Rangers for his whole five-year career. There, he’s scored 79 goals and 195 points in 301 games.
Blais, 25, is still looking for a true chance to break into the NHL. He’s appeared in 119 games over the last four seasons scoring just 17 goals and 35 points.
According to PuckPedia, Buchnevich is an RFA without a contract ahead of next season while Blais has one year left on a deal paying him an AAV of $1.5-million.
