Sirens sign Paetyn Levis to one-year extension
An original to the one of the PWHL’s founding members is sticking around the Tri-State area for a little bit longer.
On Wednesday, the New York Sirens announced that the team has signed forward Paetyn Levis to a one-year contract extension, which will take place during the 2027-28 season.
Levis was one of the first members of the Sirens roster, as she was taken in the 10th round of the inaugural PWHL Draft in 2023. She’s one of just three players left from the team’s roster in its first season, alongside defender Jamie Bourbonnais and captain Micah Zandee-Hart.
Despite a tough rookie campaign, the Rogers, Minn. native signed a three-year deal that has locked her up through the league’s fourth year. She hasn’t been the most prolific scorer, only reaching 10 points this past year, notching five goals in 30 games in 2025-26. She also posted a plus/minus pf -7 while averaging 17:03 of ice time.
Despite improvements across the board at all positions, the Sirens weren’t able to get over the hump, missing the Walter Cup Playoffs for the third year in a row.
Across her three years in the PWHL, the 26-year-old has posted nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points in 83 contests, having missed just one game in her career.
Prior to her pro career, Levis was an exceptional star at Ohio State. She reached 40 points in her final two seasons, including a career-hgih 53 in 2021-22 campaign. She helped the Buckeyes win the program’s first NCAA Championship, having been named the tournament’s most valuable player.
Levis will look to improve on her career-best season with a forward group that includes Sarah Fillier, Kristyna Kaltounkova, Denisa Krizova and PWHL Rookie of the Year finalist Casey O’Brien. The Sirens will try and fight their way through the expanded league and punch their tickets to the postseason for the first time in franchise history.
