NHL DFS Picks for January 20, 2026: Top Stacks, Best Value Plays & Goalie Targets

Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Excellent 8 game slate, let’s try to get lucky!
Top Stack of the Day
Columbus Blue Jackets Power Play 1 (Coyle, Fantilli, Johnson, Marchenko, Werenski)
Don’t overthink this. Ottawa is still reeling from Ullmark-gate, and the biggest win of their season right now is that their “Heated Rivalry” jerseys sold out in minutes.
I’m sure Dylan Cozens is thrilled that Shane Hollander is currently the most popular #24 Senator.
Columbus has been good, if not great, offensively lately and has gotten expensive as a result. That’s actually a reason to play them, not fade them, as ownership should come in lower than expected. Another viable angle is Columbus PP2, which also looks solid and offers some salary relief.
Top Value Stack of the Day
Minnesota 2 (Trenin, Yurov, Tarasenko)
Minnesota is dealing with a full-blown injury crisis, with roughly half of their top six sidelined by various ailments. That’s pushed what is normally their third line into a much larger role, and it’s a role they should thrive in tonight in Montreal.
Yes, it’s a back-to-back, but Montreal is much closer to a sieve than a brick wall. Tarasenko stands out in particular, getting PP1 time and coming off a three-point night while still priced at just $3.3k on DK.
TOP C Value
Alex Turcotte, Los Angeles Kings (2.8k DK)
DraftKings pricing continues to be an adventure, and whatever they’re doing with the Kings makes very little sense. LA hasn’t been great lately (3-3-4 in their last ten), and the offense has sputtered.
Because of that, the Kings are shuffling lines, and their “third” line of Fiala, Turcotte, and Kuzmenko isn’t playing like a traditional third line at all. They’re seeing top-six usage and ice time, making this a great price and a strong spot for them to pop.
Top W Value
Luke Evangelista, Nashville Predators (4.2k DK)
Correct answers here are Tarasenko and Kuzmenko. I’ll also accept Kent Johnson. But since we’ve already covered them, let’s pivot.
How about a perfectly correlated Line 1 / PP1 winger on a hot team that just went into Colorado’s building and won, then gets an up-and-down Sabres team next? Under normal circumstances, Evangelista is a $5k+ player. Take the discount and move on.
Top D Value
Jake Walman, Edmonton Oilers (3.9k DK)
Walman has been banged up most of the season after an outstanding second half last year following his trade from San Jose. When healthy, he’s a complete stat-monster and a shot-blocking machine, and he was borderline plug-and-play down the stretch, sometimes priced alongside Evan Bouchard.
Fast-forward to January, and largely due to injury, he’s sitting at just $3.9k. What makes this spot even more appealing is Edmonton experimenting with double defense on PP1, running both Walman and Bouchard. Yes, please.
Top G Value
Elvis Merzlikins, Columbus Blue Jackets (7.6k DK)
DraftKings continues to misprice goalies, which has been a theme all season. Merzlikins gets a home matchup against the already-mentioned reeling Senators, a team that shoots plenty but isn’t exactly brimming with confidence.
There may be “better” goalie spots on this slate, but there is no better value than Elvis at this price. As long as he’s actually in the building tonight, I’m interested.
