NHL fines Carolina Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind’Amour $25,000

The National Hockey League has fined Carolina Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind’Amour $25,000 for “inappropriate conduct” during Sunday’s game against the Washington Capitals.
In the third period with 4:30 to go, Brind’Amour was ejected from the game after going on a tirade. Canes rookie Seth Jarvis had taken a holding penalty with five minutes left in the game, then 30 seconds later, Sebastian Aho was called for a slash.

“It’s a tough way to end the game,” said Brind’Amour after the game. “It was a great hockey game. I thought we had a great third period, just did everything we could. It’s unfortunate.
“What are you going to do? It’s tough. The first penalty is a penalty for sure. We blew our coverage there, which we didn’t do any of that the whole period, then all of a sudden took a little breath and that’s what they do to you. Give up a breakaway and take a penalty.”
