NHL unveils Canadiens’, Jets’ jerseys for 2026 Heritage Classic

The NHL and Fanatics unveiled the sweaters for the 2026 NHL Heritage Classic between the Winnipeg Jets and Montreal Canadiens.
In a news release shared Wednesday, the jerseys were designed by Fanatics with collaboration from both the league and the teams. The Jets and Canadiens will wear them Oct. 25 at Princess Auto Stadium, home of the Canadian Football League’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
It will be the league’s first Heritage Classic matchup since the Edmonton Oilers hosted the Calgary Flames at Commonwealth Stadium, home of the CFL’s Edmonton Elks.

Montreal Canadiens
“The Canadiens’ NHL Heritage Classic uniform draws on multiple design details from throughout the team’s storied jersey history, with the classic red and blue team colors alongside a vintage off-white,” the news release said.
The Habs’ sweater will feature the team’s nickname “Les Habitants” on the back collar, with a label that features a fleur-de-lis, the symbol on Quebec’s flag.
According to the league, the CH crest has been redrawn “to echo styles of the past and rendered in felt with running-stitch detailing.”
This will be Montreal’s fifth outdoor game and their first since 2017.

Winnipeg Jets
“The Jets’ NHL Heritage Classic uniform pays homage to the franchise’s classic look of the 1980s and 1990s presented in white to complement the team’s current navy alternate jersey,” the news release said.
While the crest has chain-stitched detail, “an all-new streaking jet graphic frames the event name on the hem while the loop label replicates the jet-in-a-circle design from the team’s pants.”
Winnipeg will be playing in its third outdoor game and its first since 2019.
