Jack Roslovic Over 2.5 Shots on Goal: +130 Sports Interaction
Keep your eyes out for final confirmation coming out of Carolina’s morning skate, but if Seth Jarvis sits again in this matchup this play projects to hold a lot of value. Roslovic has benefitted from a role alongside Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov on the Canes’ top line, and with Jarvis sidelined versus Vegas, Roslovic also skated on the top power-play unit.
It wasn’t surprising to see that Roslovic was the one offered Jarvis’ role on the top power-play unit, as he has put up nine goals in his first 14 games with Carolina.
Roslovic ranks second on the team with 20.41 shot attempts per 60, and leads the team with 11.75 shots on goal per 60. He is only averaging 13:42 of time on ice this season, but played 17:17 last game versus Vegas.
Roslovic has gone over 2.5 shots on goal in seven of his last 10 games, averaging three shots on goal per game during that span.
Utah isn’t an amazing matchup, as it plays fairly low event hockey and is allowing less shots than average over the last 10 games. Still, it’s hard to pass up Roslovic at this number considering how he has been firing of late.
Jack Eichel Over 1.5 Points: +120 Sports Interaction
Eichel played at an exceptional level this season, and has been more than deserving of his total of 24 points in 15 matchups thus far. He enters this matchup with eight points over the last three games, and continues to fare well with Ivan Barbashev in even strength play despite Mark Stone’s absence.
The Ducks have arguably been the league’s worst defensive team, which has been masked by the otherworldly play of Lukas Dostal. Through 14 games, Anaheim has allowed 4.12 xGA/60, which is the worst mark in the NHL. It has also allowed 35.41 shots against per game.
As noted last Friday when we liked Kaprizov to go over 1.5 points versus Anaheim, if Dostal comes down to earth and they keep playing like this, it is going to lead to some significant offensive outputs for their opponents. This sets up as a good spot to ride the hot hand with Eichel given his +120 price tag.
I’ll also note that the Knights tried Alex Holtz on the top line alongside Eichel and Barbashev at the end of their matchup versus Carolina. If Holtz remains in that role at today’s morning skate, consider backing his anytime goalscorer prop at +400.
