NHL postponed Jan. 6 game between Ottawa Senators and Seattle Kraken

When the NHL announced the postponement of nine additional games over the weekend, it increased the total number of games postponed this season to 89.
That number hit 90 on Monday, when the NHL announced that the game scheduled between the Ottawa Senators and Seattle Kraken for Jan. 6 in Seattle has also been postponed. The league says this decision was made due to COVID-related issues affecting the Senators.

— NHL Public Relations (@PR_NHL) January 3, 2022The Senators currently have nine players in COVID protocol.
The Senators most recently played on Saturday – a 6-0 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs – but had their prior six games postponed dating back to Dec. 18.
No makeup date has been announced.
Of the 90 games to be postponed this season, 73 of them have been due to COVID-related issues on either or both teams.
Sixteen others that have been postponed were due to attendance restrictions in the Canadian arenas where they were scheduled to be played.
An additional game between the Kraken and New York Islanders in Seattle that was scheduled for Jan. 4 was postponed due to it being part of a longer Islanders road trip to Western Canada that already had three games postponed due to attendance restrictions.
