Nikita Kucherov Might Need Surgery

Nikita Kucherov might be headed to the Injured Reserve for an extended period of time.
Kucherov left Saturday night’s game against the Washington Capitals after an awkward collision with Garnet Hathaway and didn’t return.
This does not look good 🥺 @TBLightning's Nikita Kucherov leaves the game.
After the game, Lightning head coach Jon Cooper said it wasn’t day-to-day with Kucherov and that he’s going to miss some time. Lightning insider Erik Erlendsson reported that surgery could be involved.
Kucherov missed the entirety of the 2021 season after undergoing hip surgery but returned for the playoffs and played a key role in the Lightning winning their second of back-to-back Stanley Cups.
When watching the replay, you can clearly see Kucherov is having discomfort with his lower body, meaning this injury could be related to his hip.
Through three games this season, the 2018 Hart Trophy winner has one goal and four points. The Lightning are 2-1-0 on the season.
