Nylander, Pettersson among final players voted in to complete 2024 NHL all-star game roster
The final seven NHL all-stars have been announced – and they belong to just two teams.
Toronto’s William Nylander, Mitch Marner and Morgan Rielly will join Auston Matthews from the hosting team. For Vancouver, Elias Pettersson, JT Miller, Brock Boeser and Thatcher Demko will join teammate Quinn Hughes.
Earlier on Saturday, goaltenders Jeremy Swayman (Boston), Sergei Bobrovsky (Florida) and Alexander Georgiev (Colorado), defenseman Cale Makar (Colorado) and forward Leon Draisaitl (Edmonton) were added to the 44-man lineup.
According to the NHL, over 36 million votes were cast over eight days, with Demko leading the way at 1,398,699. Nylander led all skaters at 1,393,578, with Makar also exceeding the million mark at 1,065,367.
Of note, Connor Bedard has not officially been replaced despite suffering a jaw injury earlier this month.
Pettersson, Nylander, Makar, Auston Matthews and Nathan MacKinnon will also participate in the NHL all-stars skills competition, with two more to be voted in.
The 2024 NHL all-star game weekend will occur in Toronto, Ontario from Feb. 1-3.
The event will kick off on Thursday with the player draft, a tribute to the 1967 Toronto Maple Leafs Stanley Cup-winning squad, and a 3-on-3 showcase for the PWHL. On Friday, the all-star skills competition will head to Scotiabank Arena, and then the four squads of 11 players each will compete in the actual all-star game event on Feb. 3 at 3:00 PM ET.
