Oilers sign Adam Henrique to two-year, $6 million contract

The Edmonton Oilers signed forward Adam Henrique to a two-year, $6 million contract on Monday night, according to Daily Faceoff insider Frank Seravalli.
#Oilers finish off their forward group, for now, by bringing back Adam Henrique: 2 years x $3 million. Substantial day for Edmonton up front.
The deal will pay Henrique $3 million per season.
Last season, Henrique joined the Oilers in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks, sending him and Sam Carrick to Edmonton in exchange for a first-round pick in 2024 and a conditional fifth-round pick in 2025.
In 22 regular season games, Henrique had six goals and three assists for nine points, while in 17 playoff games with Edmonton, he had four goals and three assists for seven points.
Henrique is coming off a five-year, $29.125 million he signed with the Ducks in July 2018.
Drafted in the round by the New Jersey Devils in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Henrique has 263 goals and 267 assists for 530 points in 912 career NHL games with the Oilers, Ducks and Devils.
Internationally, the Brantford, Ont. native represented Canada at the World Championship twice, winning in 2021 and finishing second in 2019.
The Oilers are 49-27-6 with 104 points, second in the Pacific Division. They advanced to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in 2006, where after trailing the Florida Panthers 3-0, they came back to force a Game 7, where they lost 2-1.
It was a very busy opening day to free agency for the Oilers. Some of the signings include Connor Brown, Josh Brown, Corey Perry, Jeff Skinner, and Viktor Arvidsson. The team also brought back Mattias Janmark on a three-year deal.
