— Daily Faceoff – Fantasy (@DFOFantasy) October 14, 2025Senators head coach Travis Green told a group of reporters on Tuesday that Tkachuk will be out for at least four weeks after suffering an injury during Monday’s loss to the Nashville Predators.
Green added that surgery has not been ruled out yet for the star American forward.
Tkachuk appeared to suffer the ailment after a hit into the boards from Roman Josi, a play that sparked a post-whistle altercation between the two clubs. Josi was assessed a two-minute minor penalty for cross-checking for the play.

— B/R Open Ice (@BR_OpenIce) October 13, 2025The Predators went on to win the game by a 4-1 margin, with Ridly Greig providing the lone tally for the home team.
Through Ottawa’s first three games, Tkachuk has recorded three assists without scoring a goal as the team has sputtered to a 1-2-0 start, dropping a pair of games, including last night’s contest against Nashville, after earning a win in the season opener.
Tkachuk’s absence will open up an opportunity on the team’s first line alongside star center Tim Stutzle, a void that could possibly be filled by Fabian Zetterlund or David Perron.
The team’s captain has had a rough run of injury luck as of late, as he missed a chunk of last year’s regular season after getting hurt during the 4 Nations Face-Off. He returned to the ice in time for the final portion of the regular season and was out there for the team’s first-round playoff series against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
While the Tkachuk injury is a tough blow, the injury news is not all bad for the Senators, as fellow top-six forward Drake Batherson is set to make his return for his season debut on Wednesday night when the Senators visit the Buffalo Sabres.
