Senators sign Lucas Beckman to three-year, entry-level contract
The Ottawa Senators announced Tuesday the team signed goaltender Lucas Beckman to a three-year, entry-level contract.

The team selected Beckman in the fourth round of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. He is currently playing with the Chicoutimi Sagueneens in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League, where they’ve advanced to the second round of the playoffs after defeating the Quebec Remparts in four games.
In 38 regular-season games in 2025-26, Beckman is 17-15-3 with a .916 save percentage (SV%), a 2.60 goals against average (GAA) and six shutouts.

He spent the first chunk of the season with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar but was acquired by the Sagueneens later in the season. In 15 games with Chicoutimi, he is 13-1-0 with a .940 SV% and 1.52 GAA.
Across three QMJHL seasons, Beckman has a 55-34-5 record with a .917 SV% and 2.51 GAA in 99 career regular-season games. He’s also 13-4-2 with a .932 SV% and 1.87 GAA in 20 career playoff games.
The Senators finished the 2025-26 regular season with a 44-27-11 record and 99 points, fifth in the Atlantic Division.
They are currently down 2-0 in their first-round series against the Carolina Hurricanes. After dropping a 2-0 effort in Game 1, the Sens lost 3-2 in double overtime, thanks to a Jordan Martinook goal nearly 14 minutes into the second overtime.
The series now shifts to Ottawa where they’ll try to even up the seven-game series. Game 3 is Thursday and Game 4 is Saturday.
