The Philadelphia Flyers are set to get some reinforcements back from injury for Thursday night’s game against the Winnipeg Jets.

According to a report from Anthony SanFilippo of On Pattison, York will come off injured reserve and be available for the home contest.

York has a crucial season ahead of him coming off a tumultuous campaign due to turmoil in his relationship with previous head coach John Tortorella.

In March of last season, York was benched for a game for what the team termed a disciplinary issue, leaving the Flyers with just five defensemen that night.

With new head coach Rick Tocchet in the fold, York gets a fresh start with the team that made him the No. 14 overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft.

During the offseason, the Flyers made a long-term commitment to York, signing him to a five-year contract with an average annual value of $5.15 million, making him a core piece of their blue line moving forward.

The California native has skated in 235 career games while scoring 19 goals and dishing out 58 assists for 78 points along the way.

SanFilippo also reports that the Flyers will send Emil Andrae down to the AHL Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Andrae has been very productive at the AHL level in recent years, posting 16 points in 25 games with the Phantoms last year while also getting an extended look with Philadelphia, where he had just 7 points in 42 appearances.

Andrae already has a two-assist game under his belt with Lehigh Valley this season.

The Flyers are off to a 1-1-1 start with a regulation loss to the Florida Panthers in their opener before an overtime loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on the road. Philadelphia then picked up its first win of the season in its home opener in a rematch against the Panthers.
