The Philadelphia Flyers will be without their top goaltender for the next few weeks after Carter Hart suffered a lower abdominal strain.

The injury is expected to keep him out for two-to-three weeks, the club announced.

In lieu of the injury, the Flyers announced: the recall of G Alex Lyon under emergency conditions, the loan of F Joel Farabee to Leigh Valley of the AHL, and the placement of F Chris Stewart on waivers.

Lyon will wear #34 for the club and will be available for Wednesday’s matchup against the St. Louis Blues.

In 32 games this season, Hart has posted a 15-11-3 record with a .905 save percentage and a 2.61 GAA. Hart has been solid for the club this year with the second-most wins at home of any goaltender posting a 13-2-2 record (.940 save percentage, 1.68 GAA).

Lyon, meanwhile, has appeared in 13 games for the Flyers over the last two seasons posting a 4-3-1 record with a 3.05 GAA and a .894 save percentage. In the American Hockey League this year, he’s appeared in 23 games posting a 9-11-2 record, a .916 save percentage and a 2.56 GAA.
