The kid is simply on fire.

Thanks to another goal against the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 2 of the Metropolitan Division Semifinals, Philadelphia Flyers forward Porter Martone became the first teenager in NHL history to score game-winning goals in each of his first two Stanley Cup Playoff games.

After an impressive end to the regular season with his new team, Martone made an immediate impact in Game 1 of the series in Pittsburgh, scoring an absolute snipe on Penguins goaltender Stuart Skinner. The goal put the Flyers up 3-1 in the third, but became the game-winner after Penguins forward Bryan Rust scored late in the regulation to cut the deficit to one.

Then, on Monday night, the former Michigan State Spartan potted his second of the series on the rebound to open the scoring in the second period.

With Dan Vladar pitching a 27-save shutout, Martone’s goal stood as the GWG once again, powering the Flyers to a 3-0 victory and an all-important 2-0 lead against the Penguins as the series is set to shift to Philadelphia.

The 19-year-old has been ever-present in the action on top of his two tallies so far against the Penguins. Despite averaging roughly 15 minutes per game over the two contests, he has posted seven shots on goal, six of which came in Game 2. This comes after last year’s sixth-overall pick scored four goals and 10 points in the team’s final nine games of the regular season.

Game 3 between the Pens and Flyers is set for Wednesday night, with puck drop just after 7 p.m. ET.
