Philadelphia Flyers sign Hayden Hodgson to two-year contract

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Hayden Hodgson to a two-year, two-way/one-way contract with an AAV of $800,000, according to president of hockey operations and general manager Chuck Fletcher.

— Philadelphia Flyers (@NHLFlyers) August 29, 2022The 26-year-old spent last season with the Flyers’ AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, where he tallied 19 goals and 12 assists for 31 points in 46 games. Hodgson also spent minimal time at the NHL level during 2021-2022, making six appearances with the Flyers squad and recording three points.
The Flyers originally signed Hodgson back in March 2022, on a one-year deal worth $750,000. He made his NHL debut just two days later, scoring his first NHL goal and adding an assist in a game against the St. Louis Blues.
Previously, Hodgson had spent only one other season of his professional career in the AHL, which was back in 2017-2018. In 41 appearances that year he had just six points. The rest of the his career has been spent bouncing around the ECHL. Across four seasons he appeared in 98 games with six different clubs, posting 44 points.
A native of Windsor, Ontario, Hodgson played major junior in the Ontario Hockey League. The 6-2, 207-pound forward went undrafted to the NHL during his eligible years.
