Flyers sign Noah Powell to three-year entry-level contract

A young winger has inked his first NHL contract.
On Wednesday, Philadelphia Flyers general manager Daniel Briere announced that the team has signed forward Noah Powell to a three-year, entry-level contract.
The deal is set to begin next season, with Powell reporting to the Flyers’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign.
OFFICIAL: We have signed forward Noah Powell to a three-year entry-level contract beginning with the 2026-27 season. Powell will report to the @LVPhantoms (AHL) for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.
Powell signed with the Flyers less than a week after his Arizona State Sun Devils were eliminated from the NCHC Tournament, as they were swept by the Denver Pioneers this past weekend. It was a tough season for the Sun Devils and the sophomore, as he scored just seven goals and five assists for 12 points in 34 games.
The Northbrook, Ill. native moved to Tempe after playing both collegiately and in the junior ranks during the 2024-25 season. He began the year with the Ohio State Buckeyes, posting just five points in 17 games. At the end of the semester, he elected to sign with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League. There, he had a little more success, scoring nine goals and 22 points in 28 games, adding another 14 points in the playoffs as the Generals made it all the way to the final before being swept by the eventual Memorial Cup champion London Knights.
Before moving up to play in the NCAA, Powell spent two seasons with the United States Hockey League’s Dubuque Fighting Saints, leading the league with 43 goals, totaling 73 points in 61 games during the 2023-24 campaign.
The Flyers took Powell in the fifth round, 148th overall, of the 2024 NHL Draft. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing over 200 pounds, he has earned a reputation as a solid power forward who makes things tough on opposing defensemen around the front of the net and in the corners.
