Flyers sign Nolan Foote to one-year contract

The Philadelphia Flyers are getting a Foote in the door.
On Friday, the Flyers signed forward Nolan Foote to a one-year, two-way contract.

The deal will carry a cap hit of $850,000 at the NHL level.
Foote, 25, played 12 games for the Florida Panthers last season, putting up a goal and no assists. He also 14 goals and 18 assists for 32 points in 54 games for Florida’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate Charlotte Checkers.
The Denver-born Foote was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round (27th overall) of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. While still playing for the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League (WHL), Foote was traded, along with a first-round pick, to the New Jersey Devils in February of 2020 in exchange for forward Blake Coleman.
After finishing up his four-year junior career, Foote became a full-time professional in the 2020-21 season. That year, he played six game with New Jersey, registering a goal and an assist. He also played 24 games for the AHL’s Binghamton Devils, where he notched seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points.
Foote would go on to spend the next four season in the Devils’ organization, playing just 24 more NHL games in total over that time. He saw the majority of his action with the AHL’s Utica Comets, who took over as New Jersey’s affiliate after the relocation Binghamton. His best season with Utica came in 2024-25 season, when he scored 18 goals and added 21 assists for 39 points in 53 games.
Internationally, Foote represented Canada at the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship, where he had three goals and two assists for five points in seven games en route to Canada winning gold.
Foote is the son of former NHL defenseman and current Utah Mammoth assistant coach Adam Foote, and the brother of free agent defenseman Cal Foote.
