Flyers send top prospect Jett Luchanko to OHL’s Guelph Storm

As first reported by Daily Faceoff’s Anthony Di Marco, the Philadelphia Flyers have assigned forward Jett Luchanko to the OHL’s Guelph Storm.
Transaction: We have returned forward Jett Luchanko to his junior team, @Storm_City (OHL).
— Philadelphia Flyers (@NHLFlyers) October 27, 2025Luchanko was selected by the Flyers 13th overall in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. In four games with Philadelphia this season, the London, Ont. native failed to register a point, while earning two penalty minutes and a -3 plus/minus. Luchanko also played four games for the Flyers last season, when he put forth an identical stat line of zero points, two penalty minutes, and a -3 plus/minus. He also spent some time with the AHL’s Lehigh Velley Phantoms last season, where he tallied three assists in nine regular season games. Luchanko joined the Phantoms for the postseason as well, where he delivered six assists in just seven games.
The 19-year-old played the majority of last season with Guelph, where he put up a whopping 21 goals and 35 assists for 56 points in just 46 games. Luchanko’s breakout junior season came the year prior, in 2023-24, when he scored 20 goals and put up 54 assists for 74 points in 68 games.
Luchanko’s demotion back to the OHL suggests his likely return to Team Canada for the upcoming World Junior Championships, to take place in Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota. In last year’s tournament, Luchanko had just a goal in five games as Canada failed to medal for the second consecutive year. Luchanko would likely take on a more significant role this time around as a more experienced 19-year-old.
Philadelphia hopes Luchanko will eventually emerge as a core piece in their rebuild, along with top-ten picks Matvei Michkov and Porter Martone.
The Flyers are tied for fifth in the Metropolitan Division with nine points in eight games, and are set to play the second game of a five-game homestand Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
