Flyers’ Tyson Foerster activated off of IR, set to return vs. Oilers

An important player will be back in the lineup for the orange and white.
The Philadelphia Flyers announced that the team has activated forward Tyson Foerster from injured reserve, who is set to be in the lineup when the team takes on the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night.
In response, the team is sending fellow skater Carl Grundstrom down to its American Hockey League affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
Transaction: We've activated forward @tfoerster8 off injured reserve. In a corresponding roster move, we have loaned forward Carl Grundstrom to the @LVPhantoms (AHL).
Foerster has been out of action since suffering a lower-body injury against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Nov. 1. The 23-year-old blocked a shot from Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly in the first period. He ended up returning to the game to score a late goal in the third period of a 5-2 win for the Flyers.
Through 11 appearances this year, Foerster has collected four goals and seven points. He has a plus/minus of +5 while averaging 18:18 of ice time.
The Alliston, Ont. native entered the 2025-26 campaign after having the best individual performance of his young NHL career. In 81 games, he set career highs in goals (25), assists (18) and points (43). However, Philadelphia missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs, finishing tied for the worst record in the Eastern Conference with the Boston Bruins.
In 177 regular-season games, Foerster has potted 52 goals and 38 assists for 90 points.
Grundstrom played in just one game during Foerster’s absence. He was in the lineup during Philly’s 3-2 overtime loss against the Ottawa Senators on Nov. 8. Grundstrom registered 10:17 of ice time across 15 shifts, blocking a shot while delivering two hits.
Puck drop between the Flyers (8-5-2) and Oilers is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
