Penguins’ Sidney Crosby moves to 15th in all-time NHL goals

Sidney Crosby continues to make his mark on the NHL record book, as the Pittsburgh Penguins’ captain scored a goal in Saturday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, giving him 641 in his career and passing Dave Andreychuk for the 15th most goals in NHL history.

Crosby, 38, scored the goal early in the third period after Penguins’ forward Kevin Hayes took a loose puck in the Leafs’ zone and passed to a wide-open Crosby, who backhanded it past Toronto goaltender Dennis Hildeby to score his 16th of the season.

The Cole Harbour, N.S., native now has 16 goals and 11 assists for 27 points through 24 games in 2025-26. He is fourth in the league in goals.
The Penguins are now 12-7-5 with 29 points, fifth in the Metropolitan Division.
Now in his 21st NHL season, Crosby, taken No. 1 overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, has 641 goals and 1,073 assists for 1,714 points in 1,376 career regular-season games.
During that time, he’s broken the 100-point mark six times, recorded at least 50 assists 12 times, hit the 30-goal mark 13 times and has averaged more than a point-per-game in every season of his career.
Crosby also has 71 goals and 130 assists for 201 points in 180 career playoff games. He captained the Penguins to three Stanley Cup championships in 2009, 2016 and 2017, and helped them reach the Stanley Cup Final in 2008. He also won the Conn Smythe Trophy in both 2016 and 2017.
Crosby has twice won each of the Hart Trophy, the Art Ross Trophy, the Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy and the Ted Lindsay Award.
