Penguins confirm fan fell from upper concourse, taken to hospital

The Pittsburgh Penguins confirmed on social media that a fan fell from the upper concourse to the lower bowl during their game against the St. Louis Blues on Monday, then was taken to a local hospital.

“The Pittsburgh Penguins can confirm that an adult male fell from theupper concourse to the lower bowl at PPG Paints Arena earlier this evening,” the team said on social media during the game. “The individual was immediately attended to by Pittsburgh EMS as well as PPG Paints Arena personnel and has since been transported to a local hospital. Although there is no further information at this time, the Penguins and OVG Management Group are closely monitoring the situation. Our concerns remain with the individual and his family at this time.”
According to the City of Pittsburgh’s official Public Safety Blotter, officials were alerted by security at approximately 7:15 p.m. ET that “an individual had fallen from the upper concourse into the lower concourse.” They also confirmed that the person who fell struck another individual in the lower bowl, but that person declined to be taken to hospital.

The Penguins went on to defeat the Blues 6-3. Forward Sidney Crosby recorded a goal and two assists to become just the ninth player in NHL history to record 1,700 points. He also became the fourth-fastest player to achieve the feat, and also now has 498 career multi-point games.
Pittsburgh is now 7-2-1 through their first 10 games of the 2025-26 NHL regular season.
