PointsBet Daily Bets: Avalanche/Sabres Puckline & Dawson Mercer assist prop

Tyler Yaremchuk joined Frank Seravalli and Mike McKenna on Thursday’s edition of Daily Faceoff Live for another PointsBet Daily Bets segment.

With 11 games on the slate tonight. Yaremchuk provides you with all your betting needs for tonight’s matchups: the Buffalo Sabres vs. Colorado Avalanche, New Jersey Devils vs. Nashville Predators, Seattle Kraken vs. Alex Ovechkin’s Washington Capitals and the Pittsburgh Penguins hosting the Vegas Golden Knights.

Tyler Yaremchuk: Let’s jump right into tonight’s slate courtesy of our friends at PointsBet Canada. Starting with that matchup at the top, the Colorado Avalanche in their last 10 games have covered the Puckline five times. The Buffalo Sabres only have three wins in their last 10 games and of the six regulation losses they failed to cover in five of them. So, you got one team who’s covered the Puckline in five of their last 10, and another team who hasn’t covered the Puckline in five of their last 10 and you got a +130 price tag. I love this spot on the Colorado Avalanche. They are starting to play some good hockey and the Sabres played last night as well, so I like Colorado coming into Buffalo to cover the Puckline.

My player props for today, I’ve been cold, so I’m throwing it back to what worked for me last year which was betting on plus-money player assists, that’s how I turned it on and was profitable. Starting with Dawson Mercer out in New Jersey, this is paying +165, he’s playing with Jack Hughes and has five assists in his last five games. Averaging an assist a game, you’re giving me +165, I’m all over that. Also, Matty Beniers, a guy who some people think is going to run away with the Calder trophy has seven apples in his last five games and PointsBet Canada has him at +155 to grab another one tonight. I love both of these assist props and considering they’re both plus money if one of them hits we will be up half a unit. Finally a shot prop. Vegas’s Jonathan Marchessault to go over 3.5 shots on goal. He’s hit this mark in four of his last five, it’s paying plus money and in three of those last games he’s actually had five-plus shots on the net, so I love him to rack up the shots on goal. Mercer assist, Beniers assist and Avs to cover the Puckline.
