Tyler Yaremchuk: Let’s jump right into it courtesy of our friends at PointsBet Canada. It’s a big slate tonight in the NHL and I got a couple of bets I am eyeing up. Starting with a matchup between the New Jersey Devils and L.A. Kings. The devils are favourites but not as big as I think they should be, they’re -165 on the Moneyline but if you take them in regulation it’s +100. The Kings are an even 15 and 15 straight up on the Moneyline in road games this year. The Devils are at home and have won six of their last seven games and three of their last four games on home ice since returning from the All-Star break. I like going with New Jersey who is starting Vitek Vanecek tonight in regulation against the Kings.
For my shot prop tonight we are eyeing up Mikael Backlund of the Calgary Flames. He has been crushing this prop as of late with seven straight games he’s hit this and he’s actually had 22 shots on goal in his last five games. I’m not very good at math but that’s more than 3 per game and all we need is 3 shots tonight for a -140 payout. I love this spot. We are taking Backlund at over 2.5 shots and the Devils in regulation at +100.
