PointsBet Daily Picks: Maple Leafs, Oilers to start seasons in style

Today on Daily Faceoff Live, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk discuss what’s available on the board for PointsBet Canada, and what their favorite bets currently look like heading into tonight’s games.

Tyler Yaremchuk: Let’s dig into what PointsBet Canada has up on the site for night two. Early in the season it can be a little bit of a crapshoot most nights and there can be a lot of unexpected results. You don’t really know a lot about some of those teams in the middle of the pack in the NHL.

So, my strategy I think early in the year is to go with the better team. The Maple Leafs are better than the Canadiens, I think the Oilers are better than the Vancouver Canucks. The Oilers and Leafs are big favorites, if you parlay them both in the game, straight-up Moneyline, it’s going to pay out about +115 and I like that spot. I think the Leafs will get off to a good start this year, the Oilers are at home where they were good last year as well. So, Oilers and Leafs parlayed on the Moneyline at +115 is my first bet of the day.

My second one, I’m going to bet on good teams, I’m also going to bet on great players. Connor McDavid to score tonight, it’s even money, at least that’s where the line should come in on PointsBet Canada. I love No. 97 to find the back of the net, if you get it anywhere +100, all over it. So, McDavid to score at anything better than +100 and Leafs/Oilers parlay Frank, those are my two plays tonight.

Frank Seravalli: I like it, I also like the Toronto Maple Leafs on the puck line. I think they’re going to absolutely dummy the Montreal Canadiens with their defense. Probably one of the weakest in the NHL. I also like the Colorado Avalanche, even though sometimes these are emotional nights with the banner raising, I also like the Avs on the puck line over the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks we know, we are expecting them to struggle this year, it feels like both those teams win by multiple goals. We will see how it plays out.
