PointsBet Daily Picks: Taking the over in the Isles/Rangers game, an Anders Lee point, and an Evan Bouchard shot prop

Tyler Yaremchuk shared his picks and betting takes with us on today’s episode of Daily Faceoff Live with Frank Seravalli and Mike McKenna.

Frank Seravalli: “Tyler, how’d you do last night?”

Tyler Yaremchuk: “I went 1-2 last night, but we did hit the big plus money bet on the Stamkos shot prop, so it wasn’t too much of a damaging night to my record on the season in terms of units. Tonight though, I do have three more plays, even though it is a short slate in the NHL, so let’s jump into it, courtesy of our friends at PointsBet Canada, starting with a big matchup between the Islanders and the Rangers.

It’s going to be Jaroslav Halak expected to start for the Rangers, he’s given up eight goals in two starts so far this year, and both of these teams are averaging more than six total goals per game. All of that to say, I like the over in this matchup, it’s set at six. I always like going for the over/unders when they’re right at six like that, because at least there’s the built in insurance of ‘maybe you just get the push if it’s at six’. -105, good payout there.

And digging into that matchup a little bit more, I also really like Anders Lee to pick up a point at -140. He’s the Islanders leading scorer, and when you compare it to other odds in this game, guys like Panarin and Zibanejad, they’re in the -200 range. Even Mat Barzal, who’s below Lee on the Islanders scoring race, he’s in the -200 range as well. So, Anders Lee to pick up a point at -140 is my second play for that game.

And going to that bottom matchup, Oilers and Blues, that’s where I’m heading for my shot prop of the day, and it’s Evan Bouchard to go over 2.5 shots on goal. He’s hit this in back-to-back games, he had six in the team’s last game against the Pittsburgh Penguins as well, and even in the games where he’s missed it this year, more often than not, he’s only missing it by one, and Bouchard’s starting to heat up a little bit. So Bouchard over 2.5 shots, you can get it at a +110, I like that as my third play of the day.”
