Predators sign Kieffer Bellows to one-year, two-way contract

Nashville Predators General Manager Barry Trotz announced that the club has agreed to terms with free agent forward Kieffer Bellows on a one-year, two-way contract worth $750,000.

Bellows spent the 2023-24 campaign with the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League (AHL) where he collected 27 goals and 22 assists for 49 points in 52 games. Among Marlies’ skaters, he ranked second in goals and fifth in points. Bellows appeared in three Calder Cup Playoff contests but was held pointless.
The 26-year-old signed a player-tryout agreement last September with the Carolina Hurricanes after spending the 2022-23 season between the New York Islanders and Philadelphia Flyers which saw him record three points in 28 games. With there being no fit in Carolina, Bellows signed an AHL deal with the Marlies.
Bellows was initially selected No. 19 overall by the Islanders in the 2016 NHL Draft. He has appeared in 95 NHL games over four seasons with the Islanders and Flyers, recording 14 goals and 14 assists for 28 points.
The Edina, Minnesota product was once a notable top prospect, scoring 41 goals and 74 points with the Western Hockey League’s Portland Winterhawks before turning pro. He was incredibly dominant during the 2018 World Junior Championship, scoring nine goals en route to a bronze medal.
