The PWHL released its official 2024 regular-season schedule on Thursday, which will begin on Jan. 1 and conclude on May 5.

The league’s inaugural season will consist of 72 games, with each of the league’s six original teams playing 24 times.

“Our inaugural season schedule features games being played at exceptional venues, at a variety of times, across all seven days of the week – offering multiple options for our fans,” said PWHL Advisory Board member Stan Kasten. “We are excited to drop the puck on New Year’s Day and launch a new era of professional women’s hockey.”

The following eight venues will serve as the six team’s homes for the majority of the season:

• Boston will play at the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell in Lowell, Mass.

• Minnesota will play at Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minn.

• Montreal will split its games between the Verdun Auditorium and Place Bell in Laval, Que.

• New York will split its home games between Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Ct. and UBS Arena in Belmont Park, N.Y.

• Ottawa will play at The Arena at TD Place in Ottawa, Ont.

• Toronto will play its games at the Mattamy Athletic Centre, formerly known as Maple Leaf Gardens, in Toronto, Ont.

There will be five home openers in the first six days of January, with Toronto hosting New York in the first game in league history on New Year’s Day.

The schedule is constructed so that each team will play head-to-head a minimum of four times including twice at home and twice on the road, and four of a team’s five opponents will be played five times throughout the season.

American and Canadian teams will compete five times against the other teams in their country.

The schedule also pauses in February for an IIHF National Team Break, and in April for the IIHF Women’s World Championship. Playoffs will begin the week of May 6.
