A former agent is taking on a different role.

On Friday, the Professional Women’s Hockey League announced that Dominique DiDia has been hired to be the first general manager in the history of PWHL Las Vegas.

DiDia comes to the PWHL after spending the past few years serving as an agent with CAA Sports and co-head of the Women’s Hockey Department, which she helped launch in 2023. In a statement, she admitted how excited she is to take on the new role.

“Las Vegas has embraced hockey with a rare intensity, and you can feel that the game has become part of this city’s heartbeat,” DiDia said. “Growing up as a player in Los Angeles, I witnessed the sport’s expansion across the Southwest, making this opportunity at the forefront of women’s hockey in Nevada deeply meaningful to me. Representation matters, and I am proud to build an organization that will inspire the next generation of girls to see a future for themselves at the highest level of this sport. I cannot wait to get started, build a championship culture, and establish PWHL Las Vegas as a world-class sports franchise.”

During her oversight at CAA over the past couple of years, several star players signed on with the organization, including Toronto Sceptres captain Blayre Turnbull, Seattle Torrent forward Hannah Bilka and Boston Fleet goaltender Aerin Frankel, to name a few.

The California native also has NHL ties, spending 9 years with the Los Angeles Kings in various roles, including director of marketing and content publicity. DiDia has a playing pedigree as well, spending four seasons with NCAA DIII program Trinity College, captaining the team during her senior season.

DiDia has little time to get settled into her new position before having to make decisions. While Las Vegas was introduced as the league’s 10th franchise on Wednesday, the expansion roster-building process is set to begin on May 28, while the 2026 PWHL Draft, held at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, is scheduled for June 17.
