PWHL Las Vegas may still be waiting to reveal their new identity to the public, but it is becoming increasingly clear who will be suiting up for their first season as one of the PWHL’s four new expansion teams.

On Monday, the club announced it had reached a two-year deal with 24-year-old forward Lacey Eden, securing her through the end of the 2027-28 season. The fifth overall pick in the most recent PWHL Draft, Eden featured in an eight-player draft class that included six forwards.

A collegiate standout, Eden became the only player in University of Wisconsin Badgers history to win four NCAA national championships. She netted 105 goals and 140 assists for 245 points in 178 career games, topped by a 2025-26 season where she scored 29 goals, 48 assists and 77 points in 41 games.

Internationally, she has won two gold medals and three silver medals at the IIHF Women’s World Championship.

With the new deal, Eden will become a free agent in the spring of 2028, the same time as this year’s third overall pick, Tessa Janecke, who previously signed with Las Vegas in mid-July.

“We are incredibly excited to officially welcome Lacey to Las Vegas,” said PWHL Las Vegas general manager Dominique DiDia of Eden. “She’s a player we felt strongly about from the beginning, and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to draft her.

“Her skill, hockey sense, and competitiveness immediately stood out to us, but just as importantly, she is a winner who brings the versatility, integrity, and the mindset we want to define our team.”

With the signing, Las Vegas now has 15 players signed and will spend the next few weeks ironing out the roster before the preseason opens, leading into their first-ever game against fellow expansion team PWHL Detroit on Dec. 5.
