PWHL Signings Round-Up: Rattray heads to Toronto, Hemp signs on with Hamilton

Free agency finally started to see some movement on the second day of Phase 6 of the PWHL offseason, with a couple of notable names signing contracts with new teams.

Rattray returns to Canada

The first big signing of free agency was one of the game’s standout veterans heading to the Six.

The Toronto Sceptres signed forward Jamie Lee Rattray to a two-year contract. She comes to Toronto after spending the first three seasons of the PWHL with the Boston Fleet, establishing a veteran core that features Megan Keller and Aerin Frankel. This past season, Rattray scored four goals and 12 points during the regular season, scoring a goal in the semifinals against the Ottawa Charge.

In 84 regular-season games with Boston, the 33-year-old has registered 11 goals and 33 points.

Rattray is certainly one of the more decorated players in women’s hockey, winning the gold medal with Canada at the 2022 Winter Olympics, as well as the 2021, 2022, and 2024 IIHF Women’s World Championships. The Kanata, Ont. native also won an NCAA championship with Clarkson in 2014, the same year she won the Patty Kazmaier Award as the best player in women’s college hockey.

Eldrdige heads to Montreal, Victoire re-signs two

Another big signing of the day was the Montreal Victoire signing former Boston Fleet forward Jessie Eldridge to a two-year contract.

Along with adding one of the top free agents, general manager Daniele Sauvageau re-signed forwards Jade Downie-Landry and Alexandra Labelle.

Downie-Landry signed a two-year contract, ensuring some depth on the wing for the defending Walter Cup champions. She posted two goals in 23 games with Montreal this past season, appearing in three postseason games as the Victoire went on to win its first championship. In 77 career regular-season games, spending the first two seasons with the New York Sirens, the 30-year-old has scored 14 goals and seven assists for 21 points.

Labelle only signed on for one more year with the team after matching her career-high four points in 28 games, all of which were assists. She played in all nine playoff games, but didn’t register a point. In 71 regular-season contests in the PWHL, the University of Montreal product has potted two goals and 11 points, playing in 13 playoff games over her two years with the Victoire.

The Victoire have 14 of a possible 23 contracts signed for next season.

Hemp agrees to play in Hamilton

PWHL Hamilton signed its last addition during Phase 4 of the expansion process, forward Peyton Hemp, to a one-year contract.

Hemp entered the offseason as a restricted free agent, but had yet to receive an extension from the Ottawa Charge. She was picked by Hamilton at via selection process at the end of Phase 4, joining Abby Hustler, Riley Brengman and Allyson Simpson.

Hemp is an excellent pickup for Hamilton, as she was a solid depth player for a team that made it back to the Walter Cup Final. The 23-year-old scored two goals and seven assists for nine points during the regular season, posting a goal in eight postseason games.

Fleet re-sign Gabel, MacKinnon, Kluge; add Boulier, House

The Fleet were awfully busy on Saturday, re-signing a number of their players and inking several new ones.

The team re-signed forwards Loren Gabel and Laura Kluge to one- and two-year contracts, respectively. Gabel is coming off a 16-game regular season where she scored a goal and an assist, while Kluge scored a goal and assist in 25 regular-season games.

Boston also re-signed defender Rylind MacKinnon to a one-year deal, keeping her through the 2026-27 campaign. Last season, she had an assist in 28 regular-season games.

Fans will see two new faces in 2025-26, as defender Amanda Boulier and forward Taylor House each signed one-year deals on Saturday.

Boulier was part of Montreal’s 2025-26 Walter Cup championship group, where she recorded three assists in 30 regular-season games and played in all nine of their playoff contests.

As for House, she spent the first two seasons of her PWHL career with the Charge, where she’s recorded one goal and two assists in 44 career regular-season games.

Both Boulier and House played for the Boston Pride in the now-defunct Professional Hockey Federation, with Boulier helping win an Isobel Cup in 2022.

Charge sign Greig from Montreal

The Charge announced Saturday they signed forward Dara Greig to a two-year deal that will keep her with the club through the 2027-28 season.

Greig spent the 2025-26 season with the Victoire, where she had three goals and two assists for five points in 29 regular-season games. She also recorded an assist during the team’s Walter Cup title run, helping the club earn its first championship.

In 58 games with the Victoire, Greig has three goals and five assists for eight points.

The Charge now have 14 players under contract for 2026-27, including Rebecca Leslie, Gabbie Hughes, Ronja Savolainen and Gwyneth Philips.

Habisch gets new start in Las Vegas

PWHL Las Vegas signed forward Jada Habisch to a one-year contract, making her the ninth player to sign with the club and the first to be added during the league’s open signing period.

Habisch, a 2025 fourth-round pick for the Seattle Torrent, played 11 regular-saeson games, where she scored one goal. In five seasons with the University of Connecticut, she scored 61 goals and 33 assists for 94 points in 158 career NCAA games. She led the Huskies in goals in her final five seasons, and served as captain in 2024-25.

Frost re-sign six

The Minnesota Frost announced six signings on Saturday.

The first two were Claire Butorac and Klara Hymlarova, who were each re-signed to one-year deals as part of the Phase 5 process.

Butorac had three assists in 30 games in 2025-26, and now has three goals and nine assists for 12 points in 80 career regular-season games. She was part of both of Minnesota’s Walter Cup championships.

As for Hymlarova, she had three goals and five assists for eight points in 29 games last season, and now has four goals and six assists for 10 points in 58 career games. She was part of the team’s 2025 Walter Cup title.

Later in the day, the team announced four more signings: forward Sam Cogan was re-signed to a two-year deal, while forwards Elizabeth Giguere, Peyton Anderson, as well as defender Brooke Becker signed one-year deals.

Cogan spent the majority of the 2025-26 regular season with SDE HF in the Swedish league, where she had 39 points in 33 games. She returned to North America and recorded a goal and assists in the Walter Cup Playoffs.

Giguere had an assist in 13 regular-season games last season; Anderson finished her PWHL rookie campaign with a goal and assist in 28 games, while Becker had one assist in 27 games last season.

Torrent re-sign David for two years

The Torrent re-signed Gabrielle David to a two-year contract on Saturday. She joined the Torrent after playing in Sweden’s top domestic league in 2025-26, where she scored 19 goals and recorded 23 assists for 42 points in 35 regular-season games. In nine PWHL games this season, she had a goal and an assist.

The Sirens now have 12 players under contract.

Sirens re-up three vetereans

The Sirens announced the signing of three veterans Saturday night, re-upping defender Lauren Bernard to a two-year contract and inking forwards Clair DeGeorge and Denisa Krizova to one-year contracts. According to a team press release, “the signings were initiated during Phase 5” process, giving teams an exclusive window to re-sign players on expiring contracts.

Bernard, 24, had two assists in 30 games with the Sirens last season. Originally a 2024 fourth-round pick for the Sceptres, she signed with New midway through the 2024-25 campaign and has played in 53 PWHL regular-season games, with five career assists.

DeGeorge started last season with the Sceptres and eventually joined the Sirens, recording two assists in nine games. Through 75 career PWHL games with the Sirens, Sceptres, Montreal Victoire and Frost, she’s posted five assists. She won a Walter Cup with the Frost in 2024.

Krizova won two Walter Cup titles with the Frost in 2024 and 2025, then was moved to New York at the trade deadline last season. In 84 career games, she has nine goals and 13 assists for 22 points.
