PWHL Vancouver signs top free agent Hannah Miller to three-year contract

One of the biggest names on the free agent board is heading home.
PWHL Vancouver has officially signed forward Hannah Miller to a three-year contract, carrying through the 2027-28 season.
Ian Kennedy from The Hockey News was the first to report the signing on Monday morning.
The PWHL’s signing window officially opened on Monday, with Miller’s name being circulated as a favorite to sign a big contract. The former Toronto Sceptres forward had established herself as one of the league’s most productive players.
The former Chinese national team player was a key player for the Sceptres last year, who were without reigning MVP and leading scorer Natalie Spooner for most of the season, missing Sarah Nurse for a number of games as well after she was injured during the final window of the Rivalry Series.
In 29 games last season, Miller notched 10 goals and 14 assists for 24 points, good for second on the team behind Daryl Watts, and tied for fifth in the league in scoring. Miller also notched a goal and two assists in the Sceptres’ semifinal series against the Minnesota Frost but ultimately ended up losing to the eventual Walter Cup champions (again) in four games.
In two seasons in Toronto, the North Vancouver native appeared in 52 games, scoring 17 goals and 21 assists for 38 points. She also posted six points in nine postseason games.
Miller joins an already stacked team in Vancouver. The expansion team utilized its exclusive signing period and draft to its advantage. General manager Cara Gardner Morey went out and signed big names like Claire Thompson and Sophie Jaques, as well as Nurse and Emerance Maschmeyer, before drafting players like Ashton Bell and Abby Boreen last week.
Miller’s signing gives Vancouver 13 of a possible 23 players on its current roster. They certainly don’t look like they’re done yet, especially with the 2025 PWHL Draft coming up next week.
