It hasn’t been specified when or what the 24-year-old hurt during the game, but he didn’t appear for the entirety of the third period and was eventually ruled out by the team. Miller registered a shot and blocked two others in 13:42 of ice time, posting a hit as well.
The Rangers went on to win the game, 3-2.
Per the rules of IR, Miller isn’t eligible to return to the lineup until next Friday, Dec. 20, when the Blueshirts visit the Dallas Stars.
The St. Paul, Minnesota native has been for most of his career, having played all 28 games for the Rangers this season, only missing two games due to personal reasons last year. In 2021-22, Miller appeared in all 82 games. In total, he has missed just eight regular-season games since entering the league during the 2020-21 season.
So far in 2024-25, Miller has notched two goals and four assists for six points, with a plus/minus of -5 while averaging 21:21 of ice time. His scoring rate is far from the career-high 43 points he posted during the 2022-23 campaign.
Across four-plus seasons, Miller has appeared in 322 NHL games, scoring 31 goals and 80 assists for 111 points, with a career rating of +44. He’s also posted 12 points in 43 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
The Rangers (15-12-1) are fifth in the Metropolitan Division, 11 points back of the first-place Washington Capitals and one behind the Philadelphia Flyers for the last Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference. The Blueshirts will be back in action on Saturday afternoon against the Los Angeles Kings.
