#RedWings announce they’ve signed Filip Zadina for three years at a $1.825 million cap hit.
— Ansar Khan (@AnsarKhanMLive) August 26, 2022The Red Wings selected Zadina with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft. He made his NHL debut in 2018-19 and scored one goal and three points across nine games while also adding 35 points in 59 games in the AHL.
This summer, Zadina reached the end of his three-year, entry-level contract with the Red Wings.
Since then, Zadina has struggled to break out at the NHL level. His career-high in goals and points came in 2021-22 when he scored 10 goals and 24 points over the course of 74 games. All told, Zadina has 61 points across 160 games in the NHL over his career.
Zadina was the last unsigned restricted free agent that the Red Wings had. Other restricted free agents still without contracts around the NHL include Rasmus Sandin of the Toronto Maple Leafs, goaltender Jake Oettinger of the Dallas Stars, and Kirby Dach, who the Montreal Canadiens acquired at the 2022 NHL Draft.
