Reilly Smith was the most surprising player not moved at the NHL Trade Deadline

Tyler Yaremchuk: Some of the names on Frank Seravalli’s trade targets list that didn’t get moved include Reilly Smith, Max Pacioretty, Jordan Eberle, Pavel Buchnevich, Nic Dowd, Frank Vatrano, Jakob Chychrun, guys who all come with term, they didn’t move. Tyson Barrie at number eleven is probably the most surprising for me but which one stands out to you?
Colby Cohen: I’m going with Reilly Smith. How do you not move Reilly Smith? Pittsburgh is a dumpster fire right now, they need to recoup, they need to admit where they are and look at some sort of retool because you know they can’t say the other R word (rebuild) when Sidney Crosby’s still in town.
That was the most surprising to me, he doesn’t have no-trade protection, he doesn’t have what Max Pacioretty had. And Max Pacioretty said no to a number of deals, that’s the guy that surprised me the most. Not to pile on Dubas but you reap what you sow.
