Report: Frost sign Sidney Morin

The two-time defending Walter Cup champions are getting an upgrade on the blue line.
The Ice Garden’s Melissa Burgess is reporting that defender Sidney Morin will sign with the Minnesota Frost.
Sources tell me defender Sidney Morin, who spent the last two seasons with the #PWHL’s Boston Fleet, is signing with the Minnesota Frost.
Morin is a MN native, went to Minnesota-Duluth & played for the PHF’s Minnesota Whitecaps in 22-23. She’s going home!

Morin, who spent the last two seasons with the Boston Fleet, has four goals and eight assists for 12 points in 54 career PWHL regular-season games.
Morin was originally taken by PWHL Minnesota in the ninth round of the 2023 PWHL Draft, but she was released and eventually signed by PWHL Boston. Ahead of the 2024-25 season, she was signed to a one-year contract extension.
Before joining the PWHL, Morin played with the Minnesota Whitecaps in 2022-23, scoring seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points in 24 games.
She also spent four seasons in Sweden’s SDHL, playing for Modo Hockey, Linkoping HC and HV71. She was named Defender of the Year in 2020. During her four SDHL seasons, she scored 42 goals and 77 assists for 119 points in 89 regular-season games.
Morin spent her college career with the University of Minnesota-Duluth, playing in 147 career games and scoring 19 goals and 51 assists for 70 points.
Internationally, Morin has represented the U.S. several times, including the 2018 Olympics, winning gold.
After winning the PWHL’s inaugural Walter Cup championship, the Frost finished last season with a 15-5-4-11 with 44 points, fourth in the league standings. They eliminated the Toronto Sceptres in four games, then defeated the Ottawa Charge in the PWHL Final to win their second consecutive league title.
