Report: San Jose Sharks to assign rookie William Eklund to SHL

The San Jose Sharks will reportedly be assigning rookie William Eklund to Djurgården of the Swedish Hockey League, The Athletic’s Kevin Kurz reported Friday.
The 19-year-old forward was drafted seventh overall by the Sharks in last year’s draft and has appeared in nine games this year. In those games, he’s tallied four assists.
During Thursday night’s loss to the St. Louis Blues, Eklund appeared on the top line alongside Logan Couture and Jonathan Dahlen.
