It appears the end of an era is here for the Calgary Flames.

According to TSN’s Salim Nadim Valji, the Seattle Kraken will be selecting defenceman Mark Giordano from the Calgary Flames.

Giordano has spent his entire career with the Flames playing in 949 games scoring 143 goals and 509 points. In 2018-19, he had his best season in the league at 35-years-old winning the Norris Trophy and a spot on the NHL’s first all-star team.

In the veteran defenceman, the Kraken will be getting a veteran leader who undoubtedly will help that team gel. Giorando was also an exceptional leader in the Calgary community and that will sorely be missed in Southern Alberta.
