Report: 2022 NHL draft lottery to be held on May 10

The lottery for the 2022 NHL draft will be held on May 10, according to Chris Johnston of TSN.
The event will be held remotely, with general managers being patched in via video call from their home cities.
Per the NHL, here’s what the lottery odds will be…

The odds for the remaining teams will increase on a proportionate basis for the second draw, based on which team wins the first draw.
Last year, the NHL implemented a change to the draft lottery process, drawing two teams rather than three. The Buffalo Sabres, who finished last in the league in 2021, won the draw for the first overall pick, while the expansion Seattle Kraken were drawn for the second overall pick.
There will be a couple more changes to the lottery starting this year. Teams are now only able to move up 10 spots, so teams that finish just outside of the playoffs can no longer wind up with the first-overall pick. Also, teams can’t win the lottery more than twice in a five-year span (wins in the lottery prior to 2022 will not be counted toward this total).
The Arizona Coyotes currently sit dead last in the league with 49 points, two behind the Montreal Canadiens.
Shane Wright of the Kingston Frontneacts is expected to go first overall at the NHL Draft come June, but Logan Cooley of the United States Development Team and Carter Savoie of the Winnipeg Ice could challenge him for that spot.
