Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner was carjacked in a random gunpoint robbery Monday, The Toronto Sun reported.

The carjacking of Marner’s Black Range Rover occurred in Etobicoke, Ont., just 10 minutes west of the Leafs’ Scotiabank Arena, around 7:46 p.m.

According to The Sun, Marner was going to a movie with a friend when multiple men approached wearing masks asking for the vehicle. Three suspects were involved, Toronto Police reported, with two of them armed with handguns and another with a knife.

Marner turned the vehicle over to the thieves, The Sun reported, citing police sources, and the suspects didn’t know it was him. According to The Sun, Marner was shaken up by the incident but was unharmed.

The Leafs were eliminated from the playoffs on Saturday night falling to the Tampa Bay Lightning. On Tuesday, members of the Leafs are expected to speak with media in their season-ending press conferences, and it’s unknown if Marner will be made available.
