Vancouver Canucks defenceman is set to hit the free-agent market come June 28th, his agent Mark Stowe said.

Stowe made the comment to CHEK TV’s Rick Dhaliwal Friday morning.

Edler, 35, was drafted by the Canucks in the 3rd round of the 2004 draft and has played every one of his 925 career games with the team. Edler has scored 99 goals and 409 points over his career, but his production saw a sharp decline this season.

In 52 games he scored just eight assists. At 5×5, the Canucks controlled 45.21 percent of the shot attempts, 42.86 percent of the goals and 46.54 percent of the expected goals.

Despite that, he’s been favoured by some analytics models. JFreshHockey has Edler contributing even-strength offence and defence both in the 73rd percentile while playing against some of the toughest competition in the league.
