The Buffalo Sabres announced on Tuesday that they recalled goaltender Devon Levi from their AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans.

They also announced that they placed forwards Alex Tuch and Jordan Greenway on injured reserve (IR).

The 21-year-old Levi was 3-4-1 in nine appearances with the Sabres this season before being sent to the AHL for conditioning. In two games with the AHL’s Americans, he went 1-1-0, stopping 70 of 76 shots.

Levi is expected to backup Eric Comrie on Tuesday night vs. the Detroit Red Wings.

In 16 career NHL appearances, Levi is 8-6-1 with an .890 save percentage. Drafted in the seventh round by the Florida Panthers in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, he was traded to the Sabres, along with a first-round pick, in exchange for Sam Reinhart.

Tuch, 27, has eight goals and nine assists for 17 points in 22 games. He suffered a lower-body injury in Saturday’s 2-1 loss to the Nashville Predators.

Greenway, 26, has two goals and five assists for seven points in 21 games this season. He suffered an upper-body injury in last Friday’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes and did not return. He did not play in Saturday’s game vs. the Predators.

The Sabres are 10-13-2 with 22 points, good for seventh in the Eastern Conference’s Atlantic Division, and are in the midst of a three-game losing streak.

Buffalo will play the first of a three-game stretch against divisional rivals on Tuesday when they host the Red Wings. They will travel to Massachusetts to face the Boston Bruins on Thursday before heading back home to play the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night.
