Sam Bennett has helped save the Panthers’ season

With the Stanley Cup Final set to kick off on Wednesday, Florida Panthers forward Sam Bennett has helped save the Panthers’ season.

Bennett has tallied 10 goals and six assists for 16 points in 17 games throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs so far.

Today on Daily Faceoff Live, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk discuss Bennett’s heroics and how he has come to be one of the stars that the Panthers can rely upon in dire need.

Frank Seravalli: We know Matthew Tkachuk is banged up, can their stars continue to produce at the consistent level they have, and I will include Sam Bennett because he’s put up 10 goals this postseason. If he scores at a similar rate in the Cup Final, they will have an unbelievable chance to win. So those would be my three keys: forecheck, third line and then production from your top-end offensive players; they’ve almost all been consistently at that level so far in this postseason. It’s hard to do it through four rounds

Tyler Yaremchuk: I had the Florida Panthers nthers losing in round one to the Tampa Bay Lightning because my thought process was that at some point, I felt like they were gonna run out of juice, and also, the Tkachuk injury was lingering. But the fact that they’ve gone, Frank, and basically, whatever has been called it, a down tick in production from Tkachuk, Sam Bennett’s picked it up and then some in these playoffs. It’s been nothing short of remarkable.

Frank Seravalli: It’s crazy. He’s kind of saved their season, so to speak. It’s not just one performance; it’s like back-to-back-to-back every round, he’s finding some magic. And that’s kind of in the story of Sam Bennett, playoff Sam Bennett throughout his career.
