The San Jose Sharks had a couple injury updates on Wednesday, as forward Adam Gaudette is available to return to the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Dallas Stars, while forward Ty Dellandrea is questionable to play due to an upper-body injury.

Dellandrea sustained an injury to his hand after he blocked a shot in the second period of the Sharks’ 6-3 win over the Calgary Flames on Tuesday. The blocked shot caused him to miss a bit of time, but he returned to the game later in the period and played out the rest of the win. However, there appears to be some concerns with the injury, so he might find himself out of the lineup for Thursday’s game.

Dellandrea has already had his second-most productive season in his career, as he has two goals and eight assists for 10 points in 34 games. However, it’s still below the pace of his career-best season in 2022-23, where he had 28 points.

Gaudette missed Tuesday’s game after sustaining a lower-body injury in Saturday’s 6-5 overtime win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. The cause of the injury was never confirmed, but it was never considered to be a long-term injury. He also missed four games earlier this season with an upper-body injury.

While Gaudette did confirm that he was good to go for Thursday’s game, he’s still not a lock for the Sharks’ lineup and could find himself as a healthy scratch if Dellandrea is able to play. He’s had a solid start to the season with seven goals and four assists for 11 points in 29 games, but he’s gone six games without a goal and has just two assists in that span.

The Sharks currently sit in fifth place in the Pacific Division with a 17-14-3 record, good enough for the final wild card spot in the Western Conference. They’ll look to build on a three-game winning streak when they host the Stars on Thursday at 7 p.m. PST.
