Macklin Celebrini’s special season just got a bit more magical.

After scoring his 37th goal of the season to make it 2-1 for the San Jose Sharks against the St. Louis Blues, Celebrini has reached the 100-point threshold for the first time in his career. It happened in just his second season, making him the sixth teenager in NHL history to register triple-digit points.

It marked Celebrini’s second point of the night, and he’d go on to grab point 101 after scoring again to make it 3-2 in the final minute of the first period.

Celebrini is the first teenager since Sidney Crosby did it for the second time back in 2006-07. Only five other teenagers have completed the feat, but both Wayne Gretzky (the first to do it in 1980) and Crosby have done it multiple times.

Drafted first overall by the Sharks in 2025, Celebrini wasted no time becoming an NHL superstar. He had 25 goals and 63 points in 70 games as a rookie, but it became clear he was going to do significantly better this season. Celebrini was named to Canada’s Olympic men’s hockey team in February, registering five goals and 10 points as he kept himself involved in the MVP race.

Celebrini finished third in Calder Trophy voting last year, but is firmly in the conversation for the Hart Trophy in 2025-26. Celebrini is eligible for a new contract as of July 1 – and as one of the biggest stars of the game already, he’s due for a hefty increase from his NHL entry-level contract.

The Sharks entered the game sitting sixth in the Western Conference wild-card race, tying them with St. Louis. The Sharks are just four points behind Nashville for the final wild-card spot, meaning a playoff spot is still in the cards for Celebrini and Co.
