Kraken acquire Mason Marchment from Stars for two draft picks

The Seattle Kraken acquired forward Mason Marchment from the Dallas Stars on Thursday in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick and a 2025 fourth-round pick.

The 30-year-old Marchment scored 22 goals and 25 assists for 47 points in 62 regular-season games in 2024-25. Through the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Marchment had a goal and four assists for five points in 18 games.
In three seasons with the Stars, Marchment had 56 goals and 75 assists for 131 points in 211 regular-season games, along with eight goals and eight assists for 16 points in 49 playoff games.

Marchment, a native of Uxbridge, Ont., has played in 302 career regular-season games with the Stars, Florida Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs. In six NHL seasons, he’s scored 76 goals and 113 assists for 189 points. He’s also scored 11 goals and eight assists for 19 points in 59 playoff games.
Marchment also spent five seasons in the AHL, scoring 38 goals and 34 assists for 72 points in 130 regular-season games with the Toronto Marlies and Springfield Thunderbirds.
The Stars finished the season with a 50-26-6 record and 106 points, second in the Central Division. They were eliminated in five games by the Edmonton Oilers in the Western Conference Final.
As for the Kraken, they finished 35-41-6 with 76 points, seventh in the Pacific Division. They missed the playoffs for a second straight season.
