The Seattle Kraken are set to get a big boost to their lineup on Monday night as captain and veteran winger Jordan Eberle is ready to return from injury following a two-game absence.

Kraken head coach Lane Lambert told reporters, including the AP’s Stephen Whyno, that Eberle was set to draw back in after recovering from his upper-body injury. At Monday’s morning skate, Eberle was situated on Seattle’s first line alongside Matty Beniers and Kaapo Kakko.

Despite missing a pair of games, Eberle remains the team’s top offensive producer for the season. He’s tied with Beniers for the team lead with 28 points, and at 15 goals, he’s four clear of the next closest member of the Kraken for the lead.

As Seattle does not have a single player with 30 points and just five who have surpassed 20 points, offense has been at a premium for the team, which is looking to return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since their second season.

A recent hot stretch has put them in good position to achieve that goal. The Kraken just rattled off an 8-0-2 run that has them currently positioned in the Western Conference’s top wild card spot, though they would be third in the Pacific Division by points percentage.

The Kraken are in New York City on Monday night for a showdown at Madison Square Garden against the New York Rangers. Seattle suffered a setback over the weekend with a regulation loss to Carolina that snapped its hot streak, but a reeling Rangers squad could be just what the doctor ordered to get the Kraken back on track.

Seattle’s road trip will continue following Monday night’s contest, as they’ll stay in the Tri-State area to square off against the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday before a quick turnaround and trip up North to see the Boston Bruins on Thursday. They’ll then head back out West to take on the Utah Mammoth on Saturday night.
