The Seattle Kraken plan to select Mason Appleton from the Winnipeg Jets, according to TSN’s Darren Dreger.
Winnipeg Jets will lose Mason Appleton to the Kraken.
Appleton, 25, is coming off of the best season of his career, where he posted 12 goals and 13 assists through 56 games, all while playing tough matchup minutes.
He is a credible middle-six centre and takes up just $900,000 on the cap next season.
There were rumours that Seattle would select Dylan DeMelo, but as has been seen with their other picks, there were plenty of good defencemen for them to choose from.
The Seattle Expansion Draft takes place at 8 PM EST tonight.
