Evans has been out since playing in the Kraken’s Sept. 29 game against the Calgary Flames. The team announced days later that he would be out six-to-eight weeks with an upper-body injury.
Last season, Evans finished with five goals and 20 assists and 25 points, averaging 19:11 of ice time in 73 regular-season games with the Kraken. In two seasons with Seattle, Evans has six goals and 28 assists for 34 points in 109 regular-season NHL games.
The 23-year-old blueliner signed a two-year, $4.1 million contract in the summer with a cap hit of $2.05 million through the 2026-27 season.
“Ryker took a positive step forward in his first full season in the NHL,” Kraken general manager Jason Botterill said in a team release. “Since turning pro, he’s shown improvement year over year, and we’re confident he’ll take his game to another level next season. We’re happy to have him under contract.”
Evans has also spent two seasons in the AHL with the Coachella Valley Firebirds, scoring eight goals and 51 assists for 59 points in 96 regular-season games. In 44 Calder Cup Playoff games, he has nine goals and 27 assists for 36 points.
Before turning professional, Evans played four seasons with the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League. Through parts of four seasons, Evans scored 25 goals and recorded 106 assists for 131 points in 195 regular-season games. The Kraken are 6-3-4 with 16 points in their first 15 games of the 2025-26 season, third in the Pacific Division.
