Seattle Kraken trade Marcus Johansson to the Washington Capitals

Yet another member of the Seattle Kraken is on the move.
This time, it’s Marcus Johansson, who’s returning to the Washington Capitals, the organization in which he spent the first seven years of his NHL career.
Heading back to Seattle will be Daniel Sprong, a 2022 fourth-round draft pick, and a 2023 sixth-round draft pick, according to Samantha Pell. The Kraken will retain half of Johansson’s salary.
Seattle now has 25 picks in the next two drafts.
Exchange for Marcus Johansson is Daniel Sprong + 2022 4th rounder and a 2023 6th rounder.
— Samantha Pell (@SamanthaJPell) March 21, 2022Johansson inked a one-year deal with the Kraken in free agency last summer worth $1.5 million. Through 51 games this season, the versatile forward has six goals and 23 points.
The Kraken have now traded six players ahead of the trade deadline, as Calle Jarnkrok was moved to the Calgary Flames, Mark Giordano and Colin Blackwell went to the Toronto Maple Leafs, Jeremy Lauzon was dealt to the Nashville Predators, and Mason Appleton went back to the Winnipeg Jets.
Johansson, of course, is the sixth, and Frank Seravalli mentioned that Carson Soucy and Joonas Donskoi could also be on the move.
